Anna Lena Phillips Bell is a writer, teacher, editor, and maker. Her chapbook Smaller Songs, made from the footnotes of a ballad book, was published by St Brigid Press in 2020. Her book Ornament received the 2016 Vassar Miller Prize and was released in April 2017 by the University of North Texas Press. She is the recipient of a 2015 North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship in literature, and her recent work includes an artist’s book and travel-sized guide to poetic forms, A Pocket Book of Forms, selected for inclusion in exhibitions at Abecedarian Gallery and Asheville Bookworks. The first installment of Forces of Attention, a series of objects designed to help people mediate their interactions with connective technologies, is sold out and will be reissued in 2021; users’ experience with the object is documented at tditny.tumblr.com.
